About

Beth Armstrong, CVT, CVBL, CPEP, CFE, CCFP, CFT, CTP, FT

After spending over a decade dedicated to emergency and critical care, Beth spent multiple years practicing and supporting patients in medical oncology. Educating has always been one of Beth’s passions, and she has spent over 15 years teaching at three veterinary technician colleges in the Chicagoland area, where she moved on to being a Practice Consultant for AAHA supporting 5 states. Beth has supported many corporations in creating Training and Development programs over her career and believes this is the first step for credentialed veterinary technician empowerment. Beth has spent four years running her own successful business, VTNE Prep™, where she now feels well-placed in her role empowering the next generation of veterinary technicians. Beth also supports hospitals with end-of-life aftercare services at Trusted Journey by Gateway as the Account Manager in the Chicagoland area.

Beth has become involved with working with the Green Cross as a Field Traumatologist with an extensive list of credentialing to help with compassion fatigue and trauma during the pandemic and natural disasters we have faced over the last several years. Beth is passionate about mental health and leadership care in veterinary medicine, as our team’s physical and mental health directly impacts our patient’s best care.

Beth also serves as the CVT Representative on the Board of Directors for the ISVMA and is very involved with her state association with educational opportunities, mentorship, empowerment of credentialed veterinary technicians, and representation for our credentialed veterinary technicians.

Success Stories

Jason

Jason has been working in the veterinary industry for over a decade. He has been dedicated to becoming a credentialed veterinary technician for over 6 years, by going to school part time as he worked and took care of his family full time. Due to severe test anxiety he struggled taking the VTNE, and was not successful 3 times. Knowing that he needed to make some changes in his next attempt, he joined the VTNE Prep Group to learn new study techniques and freshen up on areas he wasn't as confident in. With additional encouragement from the VTNE Prep team, Jason was successful in his 4th attempt on the VTNE, and now he is a positive mentor for the VTNE Prep Group.

Michelle

Michelle decided to go to veterinary technician school to learn the "why". She currently works at a high volume practice and has a lot of on the job experience. When she finished school, she felt fairly confident that she would do well on the VTNE, but she was nervous in regards to remembering the details of the classes that she learned early on in school. She felt more confident after reviewing these courses and having these discussions, which connected the dots more for her. It gave her the confidence she needed, feeling less anxious on testing day, and she felt more prepared than if she reviewed solely on her own.

Leanne

Leanne has dreamt of becoming a credentialed veterinary technician. She continued to question the "why" as she studied for the VTNE and created notes to help all that were studying to help them with the process. She was instrumental in the idea of beginning the Mentorship Program, as she spoke with Beth almost daily on questions she had. Leanne has since become a fantastic mentor for many students, and has shared so many helpful tools she has learned in her process of studying for the VTNE.
